The book is a reminder of all of our teenage, fantasies and more so the ones whom we fell in love with.
As I read into the story I definitely remembered the girl next door that I should have dated back in my teenage years.
Whether you're a teen or an adult you will certainly love this book.

Nostalgic for those of us who have already experienced the teenage years and a great read for those who are teenagers today. Good plot with interesting characters. Get your copy today.

This tale of young love set in Kingston, Jamaica, is suitable for high school readers, or those who are young at heart. It is peppered with colourful Jamaican dialect and a glossary at the back that will be helpful for non-Jamaican readers. A good debut from Ms Parnell. I would recommend.

The Boy Next Door is a Jamaican nostalgic teenage romance, brings back memories and can be related to today's teens. Reminds me of places we used to 'walk' when in high school in Kingston.

I am looking forward to part 2.

The Boy Next Door is about a boy chasing a girl that he falls for the very second they meet. But as far as he knows, she can't stand him. Does that stop him from going after what he wants though? Hell...NO! Ryan Reece is determined, the only trouble is so is Noelle. And she is determined that he will not win. I am in my twenties and I live in Jamaica. I purchased this book because the ads say it is a "Jamaican Teenage Love Story" which is something I had never seen before. And I did not regret buying it either. It was an entertaining read. I felt like I knew the characters and connected with them. And I have already passed it on to my little sister who is 18. This book is very Jamaican but non-Jamaicans should not worry because there is a glossary at the back to help you understand the patois. Also, not because it says teenage on the cover that doesn't mean only teens can buy it - if you love to read a good romance, you will enjoy it, no matter how old you are. It is also about friendship and learning to seize the moment. Thumbs up!
